Not too much happening here but decided to write a bit. Last Tuesday was All Saints Day. It is a big 2 day holiday. Halloween is not celebrated with kids coming by the house trick or treating. The SM Mall is where all the trick or treater are. All Saints Day is Nov. 1 and people start going and cleaning up the cemeteries on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The above ground vaults get a new coat of paint and weeds are pulled ect. Flower are placed on the graves just like Memorial Day at home. There is also a family gathering at the cemetery and they enjoy a party.
It has been a rainy week. The pint jar is 3/4's full. It gets dumped on Monday and we start a the week with a empty jar. It has cooled down here and we slept without the aircon. It felt good.
We did the last English Class on Friday. It has been fun and we enjoyed each one of the participants. We will be started a new class in Naga next week. Elder DeGrange is not going to miss driving home on Friday night from Legazpi.
The Bakers brought us 6 pineapples last week. We have to be very creative to use them up before they start to spoil. We had sweet and sour pork with fresh pineapple. In my slow cooker baking adventures, a pineapple upside down cake turned out quite good. It tasted very yummy especially with the vanilla ice cream that we picked up earlier that day.
Last Sunday in our ward the Naga 1st.Sister DeGrange had the opportunity of speaking in Sacrament Meeting on the Employment Resource Center. Then we had the opportunity to team teach about being self reliant and the programs that are offered at the ERC. I think that it went ok. At least we were very thankful when it was all over. Christmas Season officially started Nov. 1. We are singing Christmas Carols in church. It is very nice to have several weeks to enjoy the music of the birth of Christ.
